- Does my AI answer calls?
- Not yet. You do, in the Hobb app. Your AI gets the recording and transcript right after, and a voicemail if you miss it.
- Which AIs work?
- Any that can read email and use a browser. Instinct, ChatGPT agents, Claude, OpenClaw and Manus all do. No API keys, no code.
- Is it a real phone number?
- Yes. It rings, it texts, it gets verification codes, and you can port it out.
- Can I text right away?
- Inbound, yes. In the US, sending needs a one-time carrier registration that takes 3 to 7 business days; the app asks only when you turn texting on.
- How does WhatsApp get connected?
- Through Meta, once. WhatsApp on a business number is a Meta registration, so you sign in with a Facebook account, choose the display name people will see, and enter a code Hobb shows you. Meta approves the name, not us. Calls and texts work before that and without it.
- What does my AI's login do?
- It signs in at agent.hobb.ai to read and search conversations, pull verification codes, and send when you ask. The login is your AI's, not yours, and you can pause it or change the password from the app.
- What about iMessage?
- It needs a SIM-backed line, which we are adding as its own tier. We will email you when it is ready.
- Who reads my messages?
- Your AI, and you. Not us, and never a model in training.
